The waterproof zipper is a branch of nylon zipper, which can resist water penetration when the bag exposed to the water, and keep the item inside the bag dry and safe. According to different materials, the waterproof zipper can be divided into three categories: TPU film zipper, PVC film zipper and coating zipper.
1. TPU film zippers:
TPU is a new Eco-friendly material, also known as a waterproof and moisture-permeable membrane. This is a major breakthrough in the application of waterproof fabrics, which overcomes many shortcomings of PVC waterproof zippers. It not only has most of the characteristics of rubber and ordinary plastics but also has excellent physical and chemical properties, so it is also called as future materials. TPU film is made of TPU granular material by a special process. It features the excellent physical properties of TPU and is widely used. To sum up, TPU film waterproof zipper has the characteristics of cold resistance to -40°C, high-temperature resistance to 100°C, waterproof, breathable, low-temperature resistance, and softness. It is a high-end product in waterproof zippers.
2. PVC film zippers:
The main material of this kind of zipper is PVC, the main component is polyvinyl chloride, and other components are added to enhance its heat resistance, toughness, and ductility. The top layer of this film is a lacquer, the middle is polyvinyl chloride, and the bottom is adhesive. There are two reasons why PVC materials can be widely used: One is the unique properties of PVC (rainproof, heat-resistant, anti-static, and easy to form), and the other is that PVC has the characteristics of low investment and high output.
3. Coating zippers:
It is characterized by no shedding, resists fading, no embrittlement, low-temperature resistance to minus 70 degrees Celsius, environmental protection, softness, and good water resistance.
Waterproof zippers play a key role in the waterproofing of bags, so when choosing bags, buyers should pay special attention to the material of the zippers.
